About ME
A resident of Henderson, Nevada, Paul Engelien is a professional pilot and retired military aircraft commander. He earned a BS in aviation from Thomas Edison State University and a license from the Federal Aviation Administration as an airline transportation pilot. Paul Engelien is also a certified flight instructor with AMEL and ASE/AME certificates. He is trained to fly aircraft that include the Boeing 737, DA2000Easy, CL-604, HS-125, and Raytheon 390.
Paul Engelien is a Check Airman with Cirrus Aviation Services in Las Vegas. He has been with the company for over five years, flying the Falcon2000Easy and the Challenger 604. As a flight captain, he is responsible for the safety of his passengers and aircraft. He also trains new pilots.
Before becoming a commercial pilot, Paul Engelien served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft commander for over 23 years and a drone pilot for over two years. He served at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada and McChord Air Force Base in Washington State. He flew the C17, C141, and KC135 in missions all over the world, delivering passengers and cargo. He also performed surveillance, reconnaissance, and combat search and rescue missions. He earned six medals for flying in combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan.
At home in Henderson, Paul Engelien enjoys fishing, running, and cycling. He has completed two full triathlons and more than five half-Ironman triathlons.
